Abstract

As an esthetic demand is becoming greater, more people are seeking for orthodontic treatment. However, patients do not want to show their brackets or any orthodontic appliance during treatment. Therefore, lingual orthodontic treatment is one of the options to satisfy these patient¡¯s demands. This case was about the treatment of a 26-year-old male with skeletal Class II malocclusion, severe lip protrusion and retruded chin. Both maxillary 1st premolars and a mandibular right incisor were extracted. By using temporary skeletal anchorage devices (TSADs), enough retraction of the maxillary anterior dentition and intrusion of the mandibular anterior dentition was achieved. With the help of TSADs, proper occlusion and esthetic profile were achieved without any surgical procedures.
